Robert Daniel Brattland

Robert “Bob” Brattland, 94, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025. Born on May 20, 1930, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Josephine Ogaard and Daniel Brattland, Bob lived a life defined by dedication—to his family, his country, and his community.

While serving in the U.S. Navy, Bob met and married the love of his life, Marian Curry of Buna, Texas. Following his military service, he pursued his education at North Dakota State University, where he earned a degree in Engineering.

Bob’s career took him to many different companies, but he found great fulfillment in his time at the University of St. Thomas. Beyond his professional work, he was deeply involved in his community, serving on the School Boards for both Burnsville and Dakota County Technical College, where he helped shape the future of education in the area.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Marian; his children, Mike (Sue), Jennifer (Clyde) Settle, and Jeanine (Dan) Hohmann; and his beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Mikaela, Makenna, and Taylor. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Samantha.

Bob’s kindness, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A service to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice in his memory.
