Robert S Baker (Bob) died on October 25, 2021, walking and holding hands with his wife, Caroline Baker. Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2017, moved to Anoka, MN to be near children. He moved to Brookdale Memory Care, North Oaks in April 2021. He turned 73 in July and celebrated his wedding anniversary on October 19 with Caroline, 49 years together.
Bob graduated from UW-River Falls, May 1972 BS in Ag Science. His education was interrupted by the Vietnam war where he served with distinction from Jan 1970 to March 1971. He was honorably discharged as Sgt.
Bob grew up in Hudson, WI on the family farm. After graduation he stayed on the farm working with his Dad until 1982. He worked as a courier, radio ad sales rep, then found a long term position in health distribution with Cardinal Health. He retired due to Alzheimer’s disease.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Cho Baker and his mother, Clara Baker. He is survived by his wife, Caroline; children, Rob and Mandy; along with his sisters, Elaine Ray and Betty Moe.
The family would like to thank Brookdale Memory Care for the care and compassion they showed Bob throughout his time with them.
Bob will be cremated and interred at Ft. Snelling. Arrangements are not finalized, but will be family only due to Covid restrictions.
