Rickey Paul Ravnholdt

Rickey Ravnholdt, 82, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13th, 2026 after a difficult struggle with cardiopulmonary fibrosis. Rick was a beloved member of the community and known for his commitment to kids and education.

Born and raised in Eden Prairie, Rickey married Winnie and raised two boys and, for a short time, a "daughter” who needed a safe place to stay. He had an enormous impact on the thousands of students he worked with at Prior Lake and Wayzata Schools.

Rick loved to fish and hunt and had many adventures in the outdoors with family and friends. His last years were spent at Heritage of Edina where he hung out with friends, watched the Twins, played bingo, and ran the Handi Shop.

Rickey is survived by his brother Doug (Kathy); sister, Andrea; sons, Erik (Tanya) and Marc (Jenny); grandchildren, Sami (Austin), Ruby, Chase (Abby), and Reid (Stephanie); and great-granddaughters, Penelope, who will forever cherish his memory, and Winnie and Josie, who will miss out on spending time with their great-grandpa since they are not expected to join us till this fall. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

We would like to thank his caregivers at Heritage of Edina and the hospice team at Allina Health for the tireless work they put in to helping Rick when he needed it most. As mom would have said, “Bless their hearts”.
