Richard L. Pothen, age 87 of Apple Valley, MN formerly of St. Paul, MN, passed away on Friday, January 5th, 2018. Richard was born on November 12, 1930 in St. Paul, MN the son of Melvin and Zoe (Christian) Pothen. Richard entered into the United States Army on October 20, 1951 in Minneapolis. He was honorably discharged on September 26, 1953 in Denver, CO with the rank of Sergeant, 1st Class. He was united in marriage to Elena G. Morozova and the two made their home in Apple Valley, MN. Richard was a lover of the outdoors and reading and was a proud Republican. Richard will be missed by many who loved him. Burial with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11AM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 55450.
