
Patricia Louise Welo, of Plymouth, Minnesota, passed away on June 25, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on August 10, 1954, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and grew up in a close-knit family with her parents, her sister, Amy, and her two brothers, Jim and Michael.
Patricia graduated from Hennepin County Vocational School as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1974. Over her dedicated career, she cared for countless patients on medical and surgical hospital wards, in nursing homes, and at Planned Parenthood. Later, she lovingly poured her time and energy into raising her two children, Anthony and Angie.
From an early age, Patricia possessed a deep passion for horses, winning numerous blue ribbons and trophies in barrel racing. She carried this love into adulthood, finding great joy in riding and grooming her horse after marriage. Dogs were another lifelong passion, starting with childhood family pets and continuing through her entire life. She was also an avid reader, leaving behind a massive collection of books that stands as a testament to her love of literature.
Patricia is preceded in death by her father, James Lemmer; brother, Michael Lemmer; grandparents, and dear friends. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Anthony Welo; children, Anthony, Angela (husband, Nick); mother, Irene Lemmer; siblings, Amy, Jim; beloved grandchildren, Dylan, Mason; nieces and nephews; as well as her faithful dogs, Bodi and Finn.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Pease and his team at the Cancer Center, whose dedication to her treatment greatly contributed to her quality of life. They also wish to thank the care teams at North Memorial Hospital, the University of Minnesota, and Trillium Woods TCU for the immense compassion and care shown to Patricia throughout her battle with cancer.
