Patricia Lucille Kappus

Patricia Lucille Kappus of Maple Grove, MN passed away on September 15, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born on November 5, 1936 in Middleton, WI to William and Lucille (Myers) Clift. She attended Ripon College in Ripon, WI where she met her future husband, Ed Kappus. The marriage produced three children: David, Allen, and Katherine.

Pat spent her life in music. In addition to teaching private piano lessons for many years, she had a successful and fulfilling career as an elementary music teacher in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. She loved trips to the North Shore and being outside in nature. She brought nature inside through her devotion to and care for feline family members over the years.

She was a woman of confident faith. Her Christian upbringing was a legacy she passed on to her children. Her calm approach to death was a witness to her steadfast belief and trust in her Lord Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kathy; and brother, Robert.

She is survived by her former husband, Ed Kappus; their sons, David Kappus (Theresa) of Spokane, WA and Allen Kappus of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren, Adam Kappus of Las Vegas, NV and Jason Kappus (Loni) of Lake Stevens, WA; and great-grandchildren Ethan and Amelia Kappus of Lake Stevens, WA.

The family would like to thank St. Therese and Methodist Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Pat in her final days.
