Patricia "Pat" Hudson Eichinger

Patricia "Pat" Hudson Eichinger of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away on August 4, 2026 at the age of 85. She was born on February 8, 1941 in El Paso, Texas where she grew up alongside her older brother, Bill.

After her husband Jim finished college at New Mexico State University, they moved to Lake Jackson, Texas, where he worked at Dow as an electrical engineer and she eventually worked as a realtor, spending most of her career with Coldwell Banker.

Pat loved social activities and was always up for lunch, dinner, movie night, shopping trips with friends, or attending realtor events with colleagues. She had many memories traveling around the country to realtor conventions with her friends.

Pat was known to be very thoughtful, wanting everyone else taken care of before herself, and her kindness continued throughout her final days. She always complimented others, making everyone feel special and noticed, especially about their fashion choices, hair, and her passion, jewelry.

Pat also had a very tender heart for animals, especially cats, and never let a hungry creature go unfed in her yard. Squirrels, raccoons, and birds were all part of her world. She also had a special fondness for a rainy day, finding a certain coziness in it that few others did.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Eichinger; brother, Bill Hudson; and parents, Cleo and JD (Red) Hudson.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Eichinger Branvold-Herr, and husband, John Herr; grandchildren, Blake Hudson Branvold and Cole Branvold; sister-in-law, Judy Hudson, whom Pat considered a best friend; "look-alike, act-alike" niece, Natalie Hudson Holt (Kevin) and family; nephew Jason Hudson (Jewell) and family; and best friends in adult life, Toni and John Kwan.

Anyone who knew Pat knew that her greatest joy and main focus in life was her daughter, Andrea, and most of Pat's efforts in life were concentrated on making Andrea happy and successful. Andrea knows just how deeply she was loved, and looks back with gratitude for the love and "extra" attention her mother gave her throughout her entire life. She deeply loved her two grandsons and had many fond memories with them when they would visit her. They remember many trips to the Surfside Beach jetties, the Sea Center, and El Toro with their Grammie over the years.

Andrea and John would like to thank the entire team at Trouvaille Memory Care Suites for the care and compassion they showed Pat for over two years. Their memory care-focused expertise brought quality of life, fun, comfort, friendship, dignity, and many moments of joy to Pat, giving her a truly unique experience. Andrea feels extremely blessed to have had her mom at Trouvaille. Thank you as well to Hospice of the Midwest for their care in her final days.

Pat's (and Andrea's) Texas hometown friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at El Toro, Pat's favorite local Mexican restaurant, on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., at 120 Commerce St, Clute, Texas 77531.
