Patricia Maxine (Silva) Anonen, known affectionately as Pat, was born in Columbia, California, on June 18, 1944, and peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, with her husband by her side. She was 80 years old.
A graduate of North High School in Minneapolis, Pat met the love of her life, Gary, during her high school years. They married on June 23, 1962, and together built a life full of love, laughter, and family.
Pat had a wide range of interests that reflected her creative and nurturing spirit. She loved gardening, quilting, sewing, and recently developed a passion for embroidery, inspired by her Aunt Ginny. But above all, Pat had an unwavering love for animals, especially puppies. Her bond with her beloved dog, Beau III, was strong and filled with devotion. Beau, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on December 18, 2024, after 14 years together, was a beloved companion in her final years, and Pat showed him great care and love until the very end.
Pat is survived by her devoted husband, Gary, with whom she shared over 60 years of love and partnership. Together, they raised three children, daughter, Lori (Bruce) Hunstad and sons, Christopher Anonen and Robert (Lisa) Anonen. Pat’s family was her greatest joy, and she was a cherished grandmother to Amanda Hunstad, Chris (Lori) Anonen Jr., Jacob Anonen, and Mitchell Anonen. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Adalynn Smeins, Keeley Anonen, Cash Anonen, and Khloee Anonen. Pat leaves behind her sister, Judi (Bob) Miller; brother-in-law, Danny (Bev) Anonen; and many other loving family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Silva and Penny Cagley, as well as her father-in-law, Harry Anonen; mother-in-law, Helen (Laukala) Anonen; and her grandson, Nicholas Hunstad.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home, 552 East River Road, Anoka, MN 55303 (www.gearhartanokachapel.com). A private family interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred the English Springer Rescue America (www.springerrescue.org) in Patricia’s name.
Pat's warmth, kindness, and love for her family and pets will be deeply missed. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
