Nancy Irene Herron

Nancy Irene Herron, aged 83, of Lake City, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on April 5, 1943 in Eureka, Kansas and grew up in Howard, Kansas, with her sister Rosalie and her parents, Francis and Jess Barger.

She is survived by her sister (married to Greg Messenger of Terra Alta, WV), her husband, Bob Herron (Lake City), her daughter Jennifer Cobb (married to Jim Cobb, Lake City), her son Matt Herron (married to Teresa), and her grandkids Caden Cobb, Britton Cobb, Jackie Herron, Ryan Herron, Christopher Herron, and Audriana Snelling.

Nancy’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments and creating lasting memories together. Outside of her family, Nancy found peace and joy gardening, reading, and having bonfires.

Her love, guidance, and gentle presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Nancy’s funeral will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 20th at First Lutheran Church in Lake City. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the funeral, at First Lutheran Church.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time.
