Myra was born in Duluth, MN on July 16, 1935. Myra lived in Duluth most of her life, retiring to Green Valley, Arizona for over 20 years and returning to Minnesota in October 2022 to be closer to her immediate family.
Myra received a Masters Degree in English, Special Education and a Sixth year Certificate in Education, which afforded her the opportunity to move into administrative positions with the Duluth School District.
Myra was extremely proud of her education and the work she did for the Duluth School District. She opened and served as principal to the first alternative school in Duluth, Unity School. She served as principal at West Middle School and concluded her career as a District Administrator working on District Curriculum and Staff Development.

Myra's family fondly referred to her as "a force" because of her intelligence, tenacity and dedication to her friends, family and career. She had a generous spirit, a dry sense of humor and always seemed to be a good luck charm on the occasions when she decided to play the slots. She was known for her beautiful arrays of homemade cookies, especially during Christmas, and loved to share plates of baked goods with colleagues, neighbors and friends. She will be deeply missed.
