Mary A. Ott, 73, of Green Isle, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 30th. Mary left her family with all of them knowing how much she loved them. She will be sorely missed.
Mary was born to Pope and Nell Monahan on June 20, 1952. She graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School in 1970. She then married the love of her life, Ron Ott, on Nov. 25, 1972. Mary started her career in the office at Farmhand and worked there until the day that it closed. She then found her forever career with the United State Postal Service where she worked her way up to Postmaster, retiring in 2014.
Outside of work, Mary was a proud, founding member of the Glencoe Regional Health Foundation. She also loved her community, taking pride in the upkeep of the new Veteran’s Park.
Mary was most proud of her family and loved watching her four grandchildren grow, following all of their interests and hobbies. Travel was a favorite thing for Ron and Mary to do, especially wintering in Florida. Her “Florida Fam” was very important to her. After Ron passed, the adventures continued with Nana and grandkids trips.
