Mary Jo Welsh of Shoreview, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the age of 89. She was born on September 13, 1937 in Richfield, MN.
Mary Jo enjoyed bargain shopping, traveling, cooking, entertaining, downhill skiing trips with family & friends, cabin time with family & friends, and volunteer work.
Her strong connection with God was always clear in the way she lived her daily life. She had a way of lifting up others by making them feel loved and special. Her family was always present in her interactions and she remained connected to her many friends near and far.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband, John “Jack” Welsh of Shoreview, MN; children, Michael (Carmen Helm) Welsh, Lino Lakes, MN, Julie Welsh, Minneapolis, MN, Theresa (Jim) Kieper, Roseville, MN, Timothy (Bruce Andrews) Welsh, Minneapolis, MN, Stephen (Christa) Welsh, Maple Grove, MN, and Kathleen (Stefan) Liiste, North Oaks, MN.
Further survived by sister, Kathleen Walsh, La Quinta, CA and brother, Thomas Walsh, Bloomington, MN.
She was also grandmother to Paul Kieper, Joel Kieper, Jacob Welsh, Nicholas Welsh, Erica Welsh, Joseph Liiste, John “Jack” Liiste, Maria Liiste, Megan Liiste, and Luke Liiste.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Veronica Walsh; brothers, John and Mark Walsh; and sister, Susan Hammerlund.
Memorial Service will be Wednesday, November 25, 2026 at 11:00 am with visitation 1 hour prior from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Joseph of the Lakes, 171 Elm St., Lino Lakes, MN, 55014.
