Mark Le Roy Orvik of New Prague Minnesota passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the age of 69. He was born on 5-19-1955 in Minneapolis. He grew up in Minneapolis, Mn, South Dakota, Beltrami, Minnesota and Faribault, Minnesota.
Mark graduated from Faribault High School in 1973. He graduated from Northwestern Electronics Institute where he earned an Associate in Electronics Technology in 1977.
He used that knowledge at Gopher State Truck Stop, where he was a CB repairman. He also worked at New Prague Appliance fixing TV’s, Lowes and Walmart. His last job was at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.
His passions included hot air ballooning, and tinkering on RC cars. He enjoyed going out to eat with friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Le Roy E Orvik. His mother, Margaret E Orvik. And his sister Jill E Orvik.
He is survived by his spouse, Susan Margaret Orvik. His son, Benjamin Roehl. His daughter in law Kailah and granddaughter, Willow.
Mark was a liver transplant recipient. He was grateful for the family that donated their loved one’s liver. It allowed him more time to live. He would like to encourage others to let it be known that they would be doners if they could. Mark chose to let his body be used for educational purposes.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Mayo hospital for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
