Marjorie Mae Schmedeke, age 92, of Sandstone, MN passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018. Marjorie loved to fish and deer hunt up into her late 80’s. She fried fish and cooked venison that tasted like steak. Marjorie gardened and canned, she was very active all of her life. The deer came up to her in the yard and ate right out of her hand. The birds landed on her hat and shoulders and ate seeds from her hand. You could sit in the house and watch the chickadees and hummingbirds and deer through the windows. Marjorie is survived by her children, Judy Stephens and Dennis Schmedeke; and grandchildren, Gordon “Gordy” (wife Carrie) Ebert, William “Billy” Ebert and Renee Nolte. She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon Schmedeke. The family is planning a memorial at their home at a later date.
