Marilyn Gail Lutz of Annandale, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born on April 17th, 1943 in Olivet, South Dakota where she grew up on the family farm, as the youngest of three children.
Marilyn graduated from high school in Scotland, South Dakota and was soon married to Gary Lee Lutz on November 24, 1961.
Marilyn was an avid reader, and she loved to spend time volunteering at the local library. Whenever a local or national election occurred, you could find her volunteering at the polls as well. When the Minnesota weather allowed, she could often be found in her garden. Marilyn had a green thumb, whether it was vegetables or flowers. The garden was one of her happy places.
Marilyn and Gary enjoyed travel, and visited almost every state in the nation. Marilyn’s favorite trip was in the early 90’s when she and Gary travelled with Ken and Carol Hoff to Europe.
She was preceded in death by their sister, Carol (Ken) Hoff and her husband, Gary Lutz.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Jeff Lutz and Cinda Lutz; her grandchildren, Lauren (John) Flom and Olivia Lutz; two great-grandsons, Brantley Flom and Braxton Flom; and her brother, David (Bunny) Eberhardt.
Marilyn looked forward to any opportunity to spend time with her siblings. As the years went on, she would do her best to arrange to meet up with Ken and Carol from Iowa, and David and Bunny from South Dakota. They had a great arrangement where they would all meet up in a central location in Southern Minnesota.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Buffalo Hospital, in Buffalo, Minnesota for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Word of Peace Lutheran Church, 21705 129th Ave N, Rogers, Minnesota, time to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marilyn's honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, https://www.alz.org
