It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, and friend.
Marilyn was born on December 11, 1934, and raised on a farm in El Reno, OK — the birthplace of the onion fried burger, which happened to be her favorite food! Her early years were difficult, yet loving, giving her qualities of fierce independence, grit and a free-spirited nature. She married her high school sweetheart, Sammy Ray Goodman, and had a lovely life with him until his passing in 1997. She raised two kids and had special relationships with all three of her grandchildren. Marilyn was strong, kind-hearted, and reliable, but her greatest strengths were her ability to find humor in just about anything, and her desire to share her many strong opinions. We will continue to listen to Elvis and eat fondue on Christmas in her honor. Marilyn was a spit fire, a force, and she will not be forgotten.
We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Floyd Mitchell, Marilyn’s son-in-law, who took complete care of her in her final years.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Tracey; son, Chris; son-in-law Floyd; grandchildren, Erik, Seth, Savannah, (Nicole, Bekki, and Justin), and great-grandchildren, Billie and Emily.
A celebration of life will be planned in the near future. You may contact the family for details or sign up below for updates.
