Marcella (Marcie) Margaret Rosencrantz of Eagan, MN, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Rice, Minnesota, on April 3, 1937, to John and Elizabeth (Trettle) Wollak, Marcie was one of 23 siblings and is lovingly remembered by her last surviving brother, Delmer (Sheri) Wollak.
Marcie graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis and went on to work as an office assistant until she married the love of her life, Wayne Rosencrantz. Her true life’s work, however, was the love she poured into her family and faith. She was a dedicated member of the People of Praise Christian Community for over 45 years, finding joy and purpose in living out her deep devotion to God.
Marcie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne who passed just six months earlier. They had just celebrated their 68 wedding anniversary. We take comfort in the thought of them reunited once again, hand in hand, at Heaven’s gate.
Marcie’s life was rich with love, laughter, and a bit of sparkle. She adored her children: Randy Rosencrantz, Cynthia (Joe) Hagens, Theresa (Tom) Kondziolka, Todd (Sheri) Rosencrantz, and Lisa (Mark) Dieltz. She was a proud grandmother to Marie (Cliff) Stacy, Jay (Brianna) Rosencrantz, Lorena (Jeremiah) Starkey, David (Michelle) Hagens, Anna Hagens, Emily (Patrick) Gaffney, Mary Hagens, Michael Rosencrantz, Deanna (thor) Wright, Christopher Rosencrantz, Amanda (Luke) Peterson and John Dieltz. Her great-grandchildren—Veda, Jefferson, Cecelia (Caden) Peters, Izzabella Starkey, Sophia (Michael) Frutos, Jack Starkey, Amelia Hagens, Esther Hagens, Leonard Hagens, Florence Gaffney, Gertrude Gaffney, Grayson Rosencrantz, Elsie and Arden Peterson…were the lights of her life.
Marcie had a zest for living. She loved a clean house, a good party, and a great line dance. Her energy and joy were contagious. She and her husband especially cherished their time together at their home in Texas, where many lasting memories were made.
Her legacy of love, faith, and fun lives on in the many lives she touched. Marcie will be deeply missed and joyfully remembered.
Her funeral will be on May 16, 2025 at 11am at Nativity of Mary, 9900 Lyndale Ave. S., Bloomington, MN 55420 with a visitation beginning at 10am.
