It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lowell Duane Bultena on February 6, 2025 after many years of suffering with Dementia that turned to late stage Alzheimer’s. Lowell was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who lived a life filled of laughter, happiness, and love. He will be leaving behind a legacy that will forever inspire those who knew him.
Lowell was born on July 24, 1942, in Lennox, South Dakota to Lucille (Timmerman) and Martin Bultena. In his early 20’s Lowell moved to the Minneapolis area, where he began his career as a Sales Representative, selling a variety of products, including cars, lighting fixtures, and office furniture. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf tournaments, pheasant hunting and singing karaoke whether it took place in a local garage, living rooms or at a local establishment.
Lowell is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy (Zook) Bultena of 50 years; his children, Chris (Laurie Moyle) Bultena, Scott (Heather) Bultena, and Melissa (Nathan Buth) Ritzema; his grandchildren, Wyatt and Paige Ritzema, and Kayla Bultena; his siblings, Lynne (Sue) Bultena, Lance (Dawn) Bultena, Marla (Errol) Walter, and Mary Jo (Rick) Brown; and many other dear relatives and lifelong friends.
Lowell was preceded in death by his grandson, Austin Ritzema; his parents, Lucille and Martin Bultena; his siblings, Marcille (Walter) Parks, Marleen (Leroy) College, and Loren Bultena; and his mother and father-in-law, Harry and Norma Zook.
Lowell will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by many family members and dear friends. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that Lowell’s love, laughter, and generosity will continue to guide us and live in our hearts.
A visitation will be held on February 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 9185 Lexington Ave NE, Circle Pines, Minnesota, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. You are invited to join the family with light refreshments following the service.
