Her life was good and her glass was half full, Lorraine lived through a myriad of changes, most were acceptable, but some not so much like the city trash collection business. She was Austrian by birth and American by the grace of God and lived through the administration of 18 presidents and witnessed the suffragette movement, prohibition, the great depression, VE and VJ day; too many wars. Mom’s entertainment was paper dolls and a crystal receiver set (look it up, cutting edge tech). She was a lifelong member of St. Francis de Sales parish and a Roosevelt democrat. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clifford Haugen; sibling brothers, John, Henry, George and Larry Karner; and granddaughter Karla Haugen. Survived by son Clifford and wife Judy, granddaughter and primary care giver Khrista Haugen. Also much appreciated friends Larry and Lorraine Jandrich and helpful neighbors John and Denise Broast family. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 (visitation 9-10am) at Assumption Catholic Church, 51 7th St W, St. Paul, MN 55102. Luncheon following services. Flowers by Jandrich Floral.
