Linda Lofdahl of Maplewood, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 at the age of 72. She was born on April 11th, 1952 in Duluth, Minnesota where she grew up and met the love of her life Craig. They built a beautiful life together, sharing 56 years of love, laughter and unwavering devotion.
Linda had a warm and giving heart, always finding ways to help others. She began her professional life as an office manager at a finance company, before dedicating 17 years as a licensed childcare provider. She excelled at nurturing and shaping young lives before continuing her career in customer service at the Maplewood Mall. She was an active volunteer in her church and a source of constant support to her friends and family.
Her love for children and animals was immeasurable- children were naturally drawn to her kindness, and she lit up in their presence. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel special, never missing a chance to offer a kind word or compliment to a stranger.
Linda found joy in life’s simple pleasures: a hot cup coffee, indulging her sweet tooth, and being crafty especially with knitting and crocheting. Most of all, she cherished time spent with family and friends, creating, memories filled with love.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gust Pappas; mother, Bernice (Kelly) Pappas; and brother, Jeff.
She leaves her devoted husband Craig; her daughters, Carrie Freshour, and Amanda (Mandy) diMonda; son-in-laws; Truman Freshour and Joseph diMonda; and four beloved grandchildren, Jada Freshour, Logan Freshour, Emily (Emma) diMonda and Lily diMonda. Her sisters; Sharon Kiley and Colleen Pappas; her brother Gary Pappas, and many loving nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her cherished dogs, Ozzie and Maggie, who brought her so much comfort and joy.
Linda’s kindness, warmth and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her. Not only was she loved endlessly by her friends and family, but also the families of the children she nurtured and cared for, forming lifelong friendships that became a treasured part of her life.
The family would like to thank the staff at Boden Senior Living and Gentiva Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. Stephen Lutheran Church- 1965 East County Rd E, White Bear Lake, MN 55110 on Tuesday March 18th a visitation with the family will begin at 10am followed by the service at 11am. All are welcome to stay for a luncheon at 12pm.
