It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our; mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Linda Helling Larson, in the early morning hours of October 15th, 2023. As a child, you could find Linda on her family’s farm in Kensett, Iowa running around with her six siblings or helping her dad with farm chores. When she was a teenager, the family relocated to Richfield, Minnesota and she eventually started a family there. Linda’s world revolved around her three sons. She was also doubly blessed with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Linda’s large family grew bigger as she welcomed ten grandchildren into the fold. Holidays were always loud, joyous, and filled with food. The children especially loved Linda’s dessert table and bottomless cookie jar. Linda enjoyed: reading, baking, sewing, word puzzles, tending to her garden of house plants, thrifting, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, and picnics at Highland Park with her family. Linda knew great wealth, not of things, or of endless days, but of family.
Linda is survived by her three sons; Zachary (Tammy), Charlie (Amber) and Benjamin. Grandchildren; Lillian, Isabelle, Rose, Oliver, Kobe, Bryce, Brady, Josie, Claire and Maxwell. Siblings; Denny, Randi (Ken), Andy (Pauline), Julie, and Bob (Ericka) and a host of beloved nieces and nephews and their families. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Marian Helling, and sister, Dianne Helling Martz.
Linda’s funeral will be held at Woodlake Lutheran Church at 2120 W 76th St, Minneapolis, MN 55423 on November 22nd, 2023. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m., which will be followed by a light luncheon. If so desired, flowers may be sent to the church in care of the Helling/Larson family. Please make any memorials out to Tammy Larson, these will be donated to Hospice of the Midwest in Linda's honor.
