Larry Clifford Gillem

Larry C. Gillem was born to the late Clifford and Mamie Gillem.

Larry served 4 years in the US Air Force. He enjoyed 45 years as a stagehand technician at the Detroit Stage Employees Local 38. Larry was instrumental in getting the members pension plan and developed the 1st computer payroll system for his Local.

Larry married Sherrie Pierce in St. Cloud on October 25, 2008.

Larry was a talented carpenter and loved tinkering in his garage, being warm at his Texas home and traveling with his wife and family.

Larry was a man who could entertain you for hours with his wonderful stories about his life in the theater during the Motown Era. He was an instant friend to all who met him. Those who knew him have no doubt that he is home with the Lord today.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sherrie; step children, Penny (Tom) Midas, Perry (Lori) Pierce, Trisha (Mark) Martin; sister, Sharon (Bob) Wearley; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews, 13 great-nieces and nephews and 5 great-great nieces and nephews.

Larry, your friends and family will love you forever.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Sunday, January 19, at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud, with visitation one half hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice Home.
