Kristine "Kris" Moore Clements, 82, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Kris was born in Minneapolis on October 1, 1944. She grew up in the Twin Cities and attended Robbinsdale High School, where she met Paul Clements. Kris and Paul began dating during their senior year of high school and, from that point forward, never left each other's side. Their relationship grew from high school sweethearts into a lifetime together.
More than anything, Kris loved people. Her family and friends were at the center of her life, and there was very little she wouldn't do for someone she cared about. When someone was going through a difficult time or simply needed a hand, Kris was often the first person to ask, "What do you need?" or "How can I help?" They were more than words. They were how Kris lived her life.
Kris made friends easily, but perhaps more remarkably, she kept them. Throughout her life, she built strong friendships wherever she went - friends from childhood, Robbinsdale High School, college, work, Minnesota Valley, the YMCA, St. Alban’s Mill, and Amira Minnetonka. Each represented different chapters of her life, and each mattered to her.
Kris graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in education and began her career as a fourth-grade teacher at Noble Elementary School in Golden Valley. When she and Paul had children, Kris chose to put her career on hold so she could devote herself to raising her family.
Once her children were in school, Kris returned to work, beginning a new chapter in the travel industry. Her career eventually led her to corporate event planning and management, work that took her around the world. She embraced not only the places she was able to experience, but especially the people she met along the way.
Kris cherished being a mother and grandmother, her family was the center of her life. There wasn’t a school event, soccer game, baseball game, or ski race she was willing to miss. Just as important to Kris were the opportunities to gather family together for an outing or vacation. For Kris, being present for her family wasn't an obligation; it was where she most wanted to be.
Paul passed away in 2019, preceding Kris in death. Kris is survived by her sons, Matt and Derek (Victoire); her grandchildren, Matthew and Scarlett; and her four siblings, Linda DeCarlo; Wendie (Steve) Anderson; Paul (Bunny) Moore; and Theresa (Bob) Lipinski.
Kris leaves behind something that cannot easily be measured: a lifetime of relationships that all tell the same story. People mattered to Kris, and she made sure the people she cared about knew it.
Perhaps the best way to remember her is through the questions she so often asked: "What do you need?" and "How can I help?"
Kris's family extends its heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people at Amira Choice in Minnetonka and Brighton Hospice for the extraordinary care, kindness, and compassion they provided to Kris and her family over the past year.
Funeral services will be held at St. Therese Church in Deephaven, Minnesota, on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be considered in Kris's honor to the Grossman Center for Memory Research and Care at the University of Minnesota.
