Kathy Jane Goettsch-Krueger

Kathy Jane Goettsch-Krueger of Apple Valley, MN passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the age of 74. She was born March 16, 1950, in Cherokee, Iowa. She grew up on the farm in Galva Township.

Kathy graduated from Holstein High School in 1968 & Western Iowa Tech in 1970. After graduation, she moved to Minnesota. She was employed by the University of Minnesota, Precision Associates, Williams Steel & Duncan Company. She retired in 2015; she moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID in March 2020 and moved back to Minnesota in September 2024.

She was actively involved in 4-H, High School Band, High School Choir, Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), Ice Racing Association (IIRA), Midwest Miniature Guild (MMG), and National Association of Miniatures (NAME). Kathy Held many positions in MMG, including president, and was the Minnesota NAME representative. She enjoyed a variety of crafts, especially cross stitch and making miniatures. She also loved camping, fishing with family, cruising and travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wes; parents, Murlen & Florence Goettsch; and sister, Jacquelynn Goettsch.

Kathy is survived by her cat, “Princess Louise”, sister, Marge (Cal) Steffen; brothers, Paul (Carol), Dale (Ellen), Tom (Jan), Brian (Sandra); very good friend, Judi Hartleben; 11 nieces and nephews, several step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the hospital staff at Fairview Ridges in Burnsville, MN for their tender loving care and the Holland American Staff for getting her sister home.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 18, 2025, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3204 East 29th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55406 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm with a short service at 12:30pm. A Light lunch will be served. Burial service will be held in the spring in Holstein, IA.
