Karen Lorene Nelson

Karen L Nelson of Plymouth, MN passed away on 11/14/2025 at the age of 80 by getting “gored by a rhinoceros in the Serengeti”. She was born on 11/18/1944 in Brookings, SD.

Karen was actively involved in Calvary Lutheran Church and other community services. She was an avid gardener and world traveler. She visited all 50 states and over 25 foreign countries. She loved her family and friends more than anything and was an inspiration to all. Always a smile on her face face and a twinkle in her eye.

Karen is preceded in death by Parents Leroy and Sadie Christopherson, Sister Diane (Richard) Hazelwood, Dennis Nelson (Husband). She is survived by Daughters Kim Nelson, Kris (Wayne) Hintermeister, Grandchildren Tristan Keckonen, Caleb Hintermeister and Sydney Hintermeister. Siblings, Vinal (Beverly) Christopherson, Wayne Christopherson, Gale Christopherson. Special Friend Jack Faber. As well as many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN 55422 on 11/24/25 at 11AM, livestream: events.calvary.org . Visitation with the family will begin at 10AM. Reception to follow.
