Junnell Ann Lonergan (Sommars), a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 24, 2025, at the age of 73, due to complications from a fall. Born on July 28, 1951, to Bob and Ceil Sommars, Junnell lived a rich and vibrant life filled with love, creativity, and spirited conversation.
Junnell was preceded in death by her former husbands, Joseph Langer and Steven Lonergan, as well as her cherished granddaughter, Annabelle Langer. She leaves behind her two children, Jana Langer and Jim Langer (Sarah James-Langer), and two adored grandchildren, Valentine Langer and Isadora Langer. Junnell is also survived by her sister, Kathi Hanson (Nolan), and her brother, Mike Sommars (Lynn), along with numerous cousins, nieces, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Throughout her career, Junnell showcased her diverse talents as a seamstress, office manager, and medical analyst, bringing dedication and skill to every role she embraced. Her hands were rarely idle, whether she was stitching a new creation, reading a new book, solving a crossword puzzle, taking photos of a stunning sunset, or shuffling a deck of cards for a lively game with loved ones. Junnell’s passions extended beyond her work—she loved to travel, explore new places, and engage in spirited discussions about politics, always with a sharp mind and a warm heart.
Junnell’s legacy is one of resilience, creativity, and connection. Her family and friends will forever remember her quick wit, and her generous spirit.
A memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.
