Judith Ann Rasmussen

Judith “Judi” Ann (Stoneback) Rasmussen of Monticello, Minnesota passed away at her home on October 7, 2023 at age 80.

Judi was born to Vance and Marian Stoneback on May 4, 1943. She was raised on a farm in Alden, Minnesota and graduated from Alden-Conger High School, where she met Robert "Bob" Rasmussen. She and Bob were married on July 6, 1963.

Judi graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and started her career as a registered nurse at Glenwood Hills Hospital. In 1966, she and Bob moved to Monticello. Judi worked as a registered nurse at the Monticello Hospital from 1966 until her retirement in 2008. During her long career at the hospital, she worked almost everywhere from riding the ambulance to running the gift shop, but she was a night owl who particularly loved taking care of patients on the overnight shift. In her free time, Judi enjoyed reading, knitting, word puzzles, watching Minnesota sports teams and spending time with her family.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Steve Stoneback and Jon Stoneback.

Judi is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob Rasmussen; children, Lynne Rasmussen (Brian O’Connell) and Mike (Heather) Rasmussen; grandchildren, Bailey (Mitch) Gifford, Brooke Rasmussen, Declan O’Connell, and Logan O’Connell.

An interment ceremony at Riverside Cemetery in Monticello will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to the American Lung Association or your local library.
