Judy "Ma" Hunter, 74, of Isanti, was born on November 5, 1948, in Minneapolis, MN, and adopted by the late John "Oliver" Erie and Irene Erie. She passed away peacefully after fighting cancer on September 18, 2023, in Isanti, MN.
Judy, also known as "Ma," was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was always there when her loved ones needed her. She had a love for many things, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, friends, and her pets - Lucy, Ginger, Buster, and Penny. Judy had a welcoming and talkative personality, always ready to lend an ear to anyone, no matter the time of day or night. She never complained about problems of her own and always put others first.
In her professional life, Judy worked at the Wilkin County Group Homes in Breckinridge for many years before moving to Isanti, where she pursued her passion for animals as a dog groomer at Scruffeez. She dedicated many years to her work before retiring.
Judy attended Elbow Lake-Wendell High School for her primary and high school education.
Judy was a member of the New Hope of Cambridge, where she found solace and strength in her faith.
Outside of work and family, Judy enjoyed going on road trips, spending time at the lake, and going on pontoon rides. She was also an avid gardener, watching Minnesota Vikings, and loved being the life of the party.
Judy is survived by her children: Lisa Zeimet (Dave Gilbert), Scott Brevig, Donald Caughey (Beth Caughey); grandchildren: Brittany Bailey (Brandon Simon) and Kyle Zeimet; great-grandchildren: Damien, Ember, and Asher Simon. She also leaves behind many friends and cousins.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John "Oliver" Erie and Irene Erie, as well as her aunts and uncles.
