Joan was born on December 17, 1937 in Waconia, to parents Valentine and Alice Hartmann. She was raised on a farm just outside of Waconia with her four siblings.
On May 10, 1958 she married Leon Siegle at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia. Together they built a beautiful life in Chaska/Carver raising five children. Joan loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Joan volunteered at her church, Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska, with the American Legion Post 57 Women's Auxiliary, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Homemakers of Carver/Chaska. She enjoyed baking, fishing with Leon, camping, gardening, and spending time with her family. Her home was always filled with laughter, baked goods, and cold beer – ready for visitors to stop by at any time.
Joan is survived by her husband of 68 years, Leon, and children, Diane (Joe) Worm, Paul (Jodie) Siegle, Al (Joni) Siegle, Jim (Monica) Siegle, and Karen Siegle, as well as 9 grandchildren: Kayla (Nathan), Kristina (Adam), Anthony, Mark (Laura), Stephen (Shelby), Danielle, Evan (Natasha), Alex, Ben; 8 great grandchildren: Grace, Nora, Marlys, Quinn, George, Margot, Alaina and Scarlett, and other relatives and friends.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Carver Ridge for their compassionate, daily care, and to Lifespark Hospice for bringing comfort, dignity, and peace to Joan’s final days.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 9:30AM to 10:45AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM, all at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 215 W 2nd St, Chaska, MN 55318.
