Rapid City, SD where she met her husband Pete. She was the daughter of Kate and Andy Daschel and was one of 6 children.
Jeanette was actively involved in church, Hastings Sorority, gardening and spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could hanging by the swimming pool until her bout with dementia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jim and Bernard Daschel and sister Pauline McGlone.
She is survived by her husband Pete Schappa; daughters Andrea (Matt) First, Jill (Ben) Faustich; sons Tim (Tari) Schappa, Tom (Shelby) Schappa; sister Linda Malone and brother Ed (Val) Daschel. Jeanette has 5 grandchildren she absolutely loved: Sage/Avery Faustich, Ashton/Sofia Schappa, and Logan Zimmerman.
She was a person who lit up the room and had the gift of gab. She could talk to anyone and make friends everywhere she went. Even through memory care she was a chatterbug and always had a smile on her face. The best memory she leaves behind is the sound of her laughter and her bright blue eyes. Those who can’t go unmentioned are her friends that were always there for her: Bernie Estenson, Ginny Trutna, MaryAnn Murphy, and Gloria Murphy.
The family would like to thank Benedictine Living Northfield – Staff, Aides, Nurses and Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days. We especially thank and appreciate, Laura McCracken, Mary Howells, and Hodan Abdi for their kindness throughout Jeanette’s stay.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Crossroads Church on Sunday Oct. 29, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
