

James "Jim" Charpentier, age 84, of Stacy, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, son of Eugene and Mildred Charpentier.
He worked at 3M and was a member and President of Northwest Saddle Club for several years. Jim had a lifelong passion for horses, and began his love for them at age 15, when he told his parents "I'm going to own my own horse someday". He indeed did that, many times over! He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising cattle. He was an avid volunteer with the Wissota Appaloosa Club, Northwest Saddle Club, WSCA and Minnesota Quarter Horse Association. He served as President, Board Member and Ringsteward and was honored as Horseman of the Year, and inducted into the MQHA Hall of Fame.
James is survived by his wife, Barbara; her daughter, Lisa (Scott Fuller) Reynolds; resident horse on the farm, Dun Rocked It, aka "HANK"; sister, Carol (Al) Ryan; brother, Lee (Nancy) Charpentier; nieces and nephews, Patrick Ryan, Lisa Ryan, Scott (Kristine) Ryan, Kelly (Mark) North, Julie, Jeffrey (Courtney), and Joshua; great-nieces and nephews, Jessica, Hunter, Isabel, and Sam; great great-nieces and nephews, Olyvia, Aubrey, Alison, and Alec. He is also survived by his previous son-in-law, Thomas Reynolds; granddaughters, Allicia Reynolds (and her children: Hannah, Blake, Lauren and Addi) and Nichole (Dustin) Jerome (and their children: Raya and Malachi).
Celebration of Life will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38460 Lincoln Trail, North Branch, MN 55056 on Wednesday, October 29th with visitation at 10 am and service at 11 am. A luncheon will follow.
Memorials received will go to the family and will be donated to a fund at Northwest Saddle Club.
