Howard Franklin Hill, Jr., of Lino Lakes, MN, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on November 7, 1942, in St. Paul, MN, Howard attended and graduated from White Bear Lake High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and was a boiler operator which led him to his career of 33 years as a Boilermaker for FMC in Fridley, MN, until his retirement. Howard enjoyed the majority of his adult life residing in Lino Lakes near his family and friends.
For Howard, family was everything. His love for his wife of 30 years was immeasurable and they shared countless memorable experiences together, including vacations, trips to casinos, camping adventures, and car shows. Howard possessed an unwavering passion for spending time with his family and loved seeing his children and grandchildren, along with anything related to cars. Howard's deep engagement in MSRA (Minnesota Street Rod Association) was unmistakable and his favorite weekend of the year was the highly anticipated Back to the 50’s event. He found great pleasure in camping, exploring various forms of racing, and immersing himself in the world of hot rods including rebuilding his 1957 Chevy Belair Hardtop with his sons.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Harriet Hill. He is survived by his wife, Connie (DeVries) Hill; children, Shane, Brian (Jessie), Jamie (Jennifer), Steven (Aimee), Greg (Jane), Dan (Bridget), Jennifer; grandchildren, Gavin, Paige, Kiara, Autumn, Bella, Chloe, Maverick, Landon, Alex, Zach, Tyler, Lily, Danielle, Brooke, Ashley, Dallas; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brianna, Jonathon, Nick, Analise; brothers, Joe Hill (Carol), David Hill; sister, Kay Meier (Dennis); nieces, Amy, Tammy, Amanda; nephews, David, Gregory; as well as many great friends.
The family would like to thank Regions Hospital and Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Howard in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Kraus-Hartig VFW Post 6587at 8100 Pleasant View Dr. NE, Spring Lake Park, MN, 55432 on Saturday, June 3rd. Visitation with the family will begin at 12pm.
