

Gregory Richard Seitzer, age 77, passed away on Sunday, July 19th, 2026. He was born February 7, 1949 in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Dorothy and Richard Seitzer. Greg attended St. Peter High School and later worked alongside his father at Seitzer Ford, where he eventually became owner. On June 6th, 1970, Greg married Jan Gustafson at St. Peter Catholic Church, beginning a loving partnership that spanned more than 50 years.
Outside of work, Greg enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with his coffee group. He especially loved traveling to Walker, Minnesota with family and friends. He also had a special love for his many dogs that were part of his life.
Greg was deeply committed to his community, serving as Past President of the St. Peter Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the St. Peter Development Corporation, the St. Peter Ambassadors, Shoreland Country Club, RedMen Club, Pheasants Forever, and Ducks Unlimited. Greg was also Festmeister at the St. Peter Oktoberfest in 2015, a member of the Boy Scout Troop that attended the World's Fair in 1965 in Seattle, and took pride in the youth Drum & Bugle Corps. He was also a Lifetime Member of the Nicollet Conservation Club and served on numerous community boards.
Those who knew Greg remember his quick wit, sense of humor, and genuine love of people. He enjoyed making others laugh and was known for his friendly nature and warm smile.
Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Jan; his children, Jill (Dusty) Dollar and Andy Seitzer; grandchildren, Addy and Ava Dollar, Micah, Aria, Hannah, Kallen, and Maverick Seitzer; his sister, Jacalyn (Mark) Wettergren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the RedMen Club, 412 S 3rd St, St Peter, MN 56082 on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, from 2-5 pm with a RedMen service at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
