Gerald (Jerry) Louis Mitlyng, age 72, went to be with Our Father in Heaven after battling alzheimer’s, with his wife, Deborah, by his side. Preceded in death by his parents Carleton and Helen Mitlyng. Survived and will be missed by his loving wife, Deborah Hagan Mitlyng, son Micah C. (Ji) Mitlyng, sisters MaryJo (John) Foss, Jeannie (Richard) Ronning, brother John (Lin) Mitlyng, stepson Evan (Marija) Wilson, stepdaughter Erica (John) Koch, ex-wife Paula (Isberner) Mitlyng, many beloved nieces, nephews their families and numerous beloved in-laws. Long time resident of Minneapolis, Rogers and surrounding areas, Jerry was a man of many talents, proud and loving father, warrior, protector, humble servant, storyteller, problem solver, with a big heart, good sense of humor. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and as a Wright County deputy sheriff and scuba rescue team member. He served as security officer and department head at a church in Brooklyn Park, a newspaper carrier for The Star Tribune, and an expert marksman. He loved donuts, chocolate and a wide variety of food and music. Celebration of Life is Saturday, Mar 2, 2019 at 2:00PM with fellowship to follow until 5:30PM.
