Gail Frances Richardson

Gail Frances Richardson of Norwood Young America, MN passed away April 21, 2026 at the age of 90. She was born on April 19, 1936 in Essex, Ontario, Canada where she grew up with her family. Gail was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Margaret Ashton as well as her siblings Pat, Jim (Alma), Jean (Al), Mary (Erie), Dan (Collete), Ted (Joyce) and Carol.

Gail is survived by her loving husband Nick and their children Shelly Bartunek (Russ), Nick Richardson (Heidi) and Becky Helbling (Jim); treasured grandchildren Nicole (Brent), Lisa (Matt), Ben (Sarah) and Jimmy; and cherished great grandchildren Josie, Maddie, Millie and Oliver. Gail was the 'favorite aunt' who was a constant source of love and laughter for her many nieces and nephews; she had a smile that would light up the room and easily made friends with all she came in contact with.

She loved having tea parties and attending the various activities that the grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been involved with. Gail was called “Nanny” by her family and many people; she also picked up the nickname “Nan the Gran”. One of her favorite things to do was to be on the water boating and fishing while sharing this fun with her grandchildren. Gail was also an avid reader and enjoyed discussions with her book club friends.

The family would like to especially thank Jaimie and Meaghan of the Ridgeview Hospice Team for their care and compassion they showed to Gail and her family.

Services will be private and limited to immediate family.
