Donald Bruce Vlasnik, 74, of Crystal, MN, passed away on July 30, 2023. He was born on November 28, 1948, in Jersey City, New Jersey. Donald was a beloved life partner, father, grandfather, and brother.
Donald was known for his kind and caring nature, always having a positive outlook on life. He cherished his family and was a true friend to many. He had a curious mind and loved to read, constantly expanding his knowledge. Donald had a passion for music and singing, and he enjoyed sharing his love for popular music as a karaoke disc jockey and entertainer. He was also a devoted pet lover, finding joy in the company of the family dogs and cats.
Donald is survived by his life partner, Barbara Cohen, his son Allen Vlasnik, his daughter Gina Meade, his granddaughter Nalani Meade, his grandson Adrian Meade, and his brother Jim Vlasnik. He was preceded in death by his mother Leatrice Vlasnik and his father Donald James Vlasnik.
Donald graduated from Hawaii Pacific College majoring in human services and philosophy.
Throughout his life, Donald had a diverse entrepreneurial career owning a gym and a surf shop along with other small businesses. He also found fulfillment in serving as an officer in the Honolulu Police Department and as the head of security for Tandy Corporation in California.
In his free time, Donald enjoyed various hobbies. Karaoke, golfing, and reading, particularly science fiction and fantasy novels, were among his favorite pastimes. He challenged his mind with crossword puzzles and had a love for travel, both locally and internationally. Donald also appreciated the arts, regularly attending theater performances and concerts.

Donald's warm spirit, loving nature, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness and joy.
