Born in Philip, South Dakota, to Saras Jesenius Oas and Adeline Cecilia Oas, Denny was the youngest of four children. When he was an infant his family moved to Maple Lake, Minnesota, where he grew up. He met Judith (“Judy”) Reynolds, whom he later married on August 11th, 1962, and the Lord blessed them with six beautiful children.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents Saras Oas and Adeline Oas DesMarais, brother Leo Oas, and daughter born sleeping, Amy Oas.
He is survived by his wife Judy Oas; sisters Teresa (Clarence) Campbell and Virginia (“Ginny") Marquette; children Julie (Brad) Conner, Barbara (Bradley) Shofner, Casey (Mike) Heutmaker, Robert Oas, and William (Robin) Oas; grandchildren Ashley (Travis), Madison, Kenzie, Alec, Tori, and Eric; and great grandchildren Carter, Arthur, Eveliina, Frida, and Sylvi, whom he cherished deeply, along with countless friends.
Denny was a gifted salesman, forming many meaningful relationships, retiring from Lube-Tech at the age of 80. His retirement allowed him the time to fully embrace the passions that brought him the most joy, spending time with his family and friends, and particularly fishing. For many years, he enjoyed unforgettable moments casting his line at the Hook and Horn Camp in Canada, a place he held close to his heart. In addition to his love of the outdoors, Denny was a strong and supportive presence in his community, always willing to lend a hand or share a kind word. He touched many lives with his generosity, humility, and sense of humor. He loved connecting with others and creating long-lasting friendships.
We invite all family and friends to attend his funeral services, to be held at St. Victoria Catholic Church in Victoria, Minnesota, on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family begins at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Victoria Catholic Church.
