Dennis C. Davies (Denny) of Becker, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8th at the age of 79. He was born on January 13th, 1946, in Winnipeg, Canada, to Carl and Olive Davies. His family immigrated to Minneapolis, MN in 1954.
He is survived by his children, Jocelyn Davies, Kasana Davies, Jacob (Emma) Davies; grandchildren, Olivia Walker and Finley Davies; his sister, Trudy Davies; and his companion, Sharon Terway. He was a proud father and grandfather.
Denny proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, stationed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. Serving his country helped shape his strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to others. Following his return from the Navy, Denny earned a degree in education at St. Cloud State University. He devoted 30 years as a special education teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools, primarily at North High School. He touched countless lives with his patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication to helping students overcome challenges.
Denny’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched - whether through his military service, his years as a dedicated educator, or as a father and grandfather. He was strong-minded, endlessly curious, and loved to tinker on any project he could find. He enjoyed traveling, especially along the back roads, and never shied away from sharing his opinions - particularly when it came to politics.
