Denise M. Burbeck of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on October 23rd, 2023 at the age of 65. She was born on November 19th, 1957, in Phoenix, Arizona where she grew up in a loving home with parents, Louise and Bernie Harvey, and sisters, Jeannine and Priscilla.
While working together on a high school theater production, she met the love of her life, Jim. She attended Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Art. She and Jim worked around the country on various theater productions. For a time they were in Wisconsin before settling in Minnesota. She always found various jobs to put to use her artistic ability.
A lifelong lover of exploring the joys in life, Denise was an active reader, enjoying the fantastical worlds of Middle Earth, traveling through the Looking Glass, and flying to Neverland. Ever the creative, she was always sewing, painting, and drawing. She was active in various church groups within the Episcopal community where she met lifelong friend, Susan Dingle. She proudly displayed her love of the theater on her car with a bumper sticker that read, “all my friends are thespians.”
Denise is preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Bernhard; sister, Priscilla; and husband, James. She is survived by her sister, Jeannine Smith; children, Nate Burbeck and Katie Malling (Stephen); and granddaughter, Poppy; as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the home health aides; Massa, Adolphus, Abosede, and Lina, and others for the care and compassion they showed Denise over the years, becoming an integral part of the Burbeck household.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at 11:30am on Tuesday, December 12th at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, 519 Oak Grove St., Minneapolis, MN.
