Deborah Lee Swartzell

Deborah (Deb) Swartzell of Maplewood, Minnesota, passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 65 due to complications of heart disease. She died peacefully at home with her dog, sister, and best friend by her side.

Deb was born on March 5, 1959, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up there until the family moved to St. Louis Park. Deb moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and then back to Minnesota for a few years. From there, Deb lived in Bedford, Texas, for 12 years and then went back to Minnesota in March 2024.

In 1983, Deb began her 30-year career at FedEx and retired early to take care of Mom. Deb loved being on the water, boating, fishing, and scuba diving as well as traveling.

Deb was preceded in death by her mother, Lelah; stepdad, John; father, Ace; sister, Renee. She was survived by her beloved dog, Bob; sister, Joell (Bink); lifelong friend, Rita Perkins; nieces, nephew, and many grand nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, beginning at 2 pm until 4pm at The Eagles #34, 2507 E. 25th St, Minneapolis, MN, 55406.
