David Arnold, age 85, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, Minnesota.
David was born on December 14, 1940, in Excelsior, Minnesota, and spent his life in the Twin Cities area. He will be remembered as a kind, caring, and hardworking man who was always willing to lend a hand to others.
David had a remarkable mechanical ability and could fix just about anything. Throughout the years, friends, neighbors, and others often brought him lawnmowers, equipment, and other items in need of repair. Helping people was simply part of who David was, and he was always willing to give his time and talents to someone in need.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, and was a loyal fan of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. David also enjoyed watching old Westerns and appreciated life’s simple pleasures, including one of his favorite treats, Junior Caramels.
Above all, David was devoted to his family. Family vacations often meant packing up the RV after a long day of work and heading out to make memories together. No matter how tired he may have been, David always made time for the people he loved.
That devotion continued throughout his life. Even as health issues made some activities more difficult, David continued to do everything he could to be present for his family. Whether it was playing catch, spending time together, or simply being there to listen, he showed his love through his actions.
David is survived by his wife, Deborah Arnold; his son, Joshua Arnold, and daughter-in-law, Julie Arnold; and his beloved granddaughters. He is also survived by additional family members, extended family, dear friends, and many others whose lives were touched by his kindness.
David will be remembered for his patience, generosity, willingness to help others, remarkable ability to fix almost anything, and, most importantly, the deep love he had for his family. His quiet kindness and the memories he created will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that David’s memory be honored by spending time with the people you love, making memories together, and never taking those moments for granted.
