There was something undeniably magical about Daryl.  He could easily see the spark in others and knew how to set them aflame.  He was instrumental in providing a space where people felt seen and understood.  While we stayed connected for many years after we left our mutual employer, we did lose connection, and then later once ran into each other randomly at SU where he was attending and I was visiting from another college for a project.   
I am so deeply mournful that I will not have another random run in with Daryl.  That I will never attend one of his gatherings & game nights and go home with a cramp in my side from laughing so hard.  I will draw upon my memories of the times we did have together and cherish how fortunate I was to have spent so much quality time with Daryl.  You were loved.  You will always be missed.

Matt, Mary, Beth, It has been a year since we heard the sad news of Daryl passing. When I think of Daryl, I see him as a young boy playing with Aaron and John. If I remember clearly, he and John got along quite well. Not that he and Aaron didn’t. Daryl and John just seemed energetic around each other. I remember the times we visited at the house in north Minneapolis and then at Dave and Janet’s cabin. The boys would swim, fish and chase about. 

I didn’t interact with Daryl a lot. But when we did he was always smiling, cheerful, polite and respectful. The years went by so quickly as we were always returning from an assignment, and preparing for the next. Time passed, and the boys grew up. So sad. Tom Bednar

I am so sad to hear of Daryl's passing at such a young age. 
Daryl was a special brother and colleague to me! We had a lot of fun and deep conversations when we would travel to work events or he'd come to Denver for training for his role at McGhee Productivity Solutions. I thank God for his life and know he's in the healthiest and happiest place he could be.

I have so many memories of Daryl, I don’t know where to start or how to summarize. We were able to see, and visit Daryl occasionally from when he was born in 1982 through the 1990s. He was born a year or so in between Aaron and John. I remember being at Matt’s house in north Minneapolis, and Brooklyn Park with everybody for Holiday events, family reunions and staying at the cabins in northern  Minnesota. Aaron and John had many fun, enjoyable times with Daryl.  Time passes, they grew up (aunts and uncles get older), received their education, and went on their separate journeys. As an uncle, it seemed to me that Daryl was always pleasant, easy to get along with, quick with comments in conversations, sociable and had a positive outlook. All we can do now is continue on .... and remember and remember and remember. 

Daryl had a heart of service, a mischievous smile and quick wit. We worked together in a consulting firm, and watching him grow and train clients was inspiring. He wanted to make such a big difference, it was so important to him to contribute and assist people. He touched many lives in the corporate world as he did in his personal life. Family was just as important. He was sensitive, positive and a joy to be around.

We love you Daryl! From all of us at McGhee. 

I met Daryl when he was in HR at Verity CU in Seattle. He helped hire me, and was among my first interactions with anyone there - he made me feel welcomed and at ease, and I valued that. He was passionate about music and was always ready with encouraging words to bring out the best in people. He helped me see how I could influence people, and I was excited to join the HR team a year later to work alongside him. We fell out of touch when he left, though I saw him a few times at various social events over the years. I am so sorry to hear of his death, especially so young. I have so much in my life to be thankful for as a result of his bringing me on board - he helped change my life for the better. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends. 

I have so many memories, Daryl was a part of my life for 34 yrs and I would not change it for the world.  His Father and I dated for 10 yrs before we decided to get married and I moved into his home and we blended our families.  I remember taking Daryl out for dinner and asking his thoughts and having a very nice chat about a million things.  I told him that I was very aware that I did not give birth to him but I loved him as if he were my own, thru the good and bad times.  We grew to be close to each other.  
Daryl was very talented and gifted.  My best memories of him were his clowning around.  I would be in the store with him and he would just break into a dance or grabbing things off the shelf and do something silly.
I treasure all the birthday and mothers day cards he would send to me when he moved to Seattle, I have all of them.
2020 was a struggle but we did our best to support him and his decisions.
I will miss him and he will always hold a place in my heart.

Oh the music!  And the late into the night teaching to a poor student music theory. Who knew there was such a thing as music theory?  A patient teacher   I wish I had been able to teach Daryl some things but I was not patient enough. 

I’ll remember the good times. Swearing on the golf course over errant shots. We both had plenty to swear about. 

Politics and delving into philosophy. Business, of which I know little, but learned much from Daryl. I’m sorry I couldn’t see better and help him find some peace. I miss him.

Oh my. How much fun we had at work when i first met you in 2005. I was lucky that my boss Tim didn’t fire me because of laughing. Daryl, you will be missed and i am sure you already found my Harold up there. Now you can make music togther but beware, he cannot sing.  Oh dear, rest in peace. 

Daryl,  I will always remember your great sense of humor.  I also have a wonderful memory of your mom taking you three kids  (you, paul, leah) to Wisconsin Dells water park all by herself.  You guys came back with a crackly crunch sun burn.  You kids had such a great time there.  Daryl you will be so greatly missed.  I love you!

Daryl, you had a wonderfully quick wit and great stories for every occasion. You were incredibly thoughtful, talented, and driven. And you left us all too soon.  There were so many great times to think about. Having your 3-year-old nephew pull you through the state fair on his wagon, randomly quoting obscure songs and challenging people to guess the artist, bonfire hijinks with your dad, and our last memory: hosting us all at your place for a family hot tub night. You seemed so peaceful so content so ready to face your next adventure in life. I love thinking of you that way. Even though you are gone, your memory will live with us always.
