Daniel Craig Murray

Daniel Craig Murray, age 72, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, passed away on December 30, 2025, at home, following years of complications of Covid. Dan was born to Roderick and Maryann Gertrude Murray on January 9, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The oldest of three children, the family lived on various military bases, including almost four years in Japan. After graduating high school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Dan joined the Air Force 1972, served for two years in Turkey, and was discharged in 1976. He came to Minneapolis and worked for Control Data where he made deep and lasting friendships. His last employment was as an estimator for Life Safety Systems.

Dan is survived by his wife, Jody; daughters, Chris Murray, Katie (Tony) Tallarico; grandchildren, Malek, Dominick, Amani, Dawna, Lawrence, Kailey, Braedon, Santino, Charlie Joe; great grandchildren, Lyla, Malek Jr.; brother, Tim (Janel) Murray; sister, Kim Miller; many nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He loved fishing, later bow hunting, and the Grateful Dead. Dan also loved to throw parties and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Riverwind Community Building, 2701 Northdale Boulevard NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.
