Dale Raymond Anhorn

Dale Raymond Anhorn, 70, passed away on September 22, 2026. He was born July 22, 1956, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Raymond and Dorothea Anhorn. He grew up on his family’s farm, surrounded by crops, livestock, hard work and family. Those roots remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Dale graduated from Owatonna High School in 1974 and later studied graphic design at Minneapolis Vocational School. His creativity became both a career and a lifelong passion. He worked for Metrographics and later founded his own business, Graphic Results, in 1989, serving clients that included Land O’Lakes.

Outside of work, Dale was always creating. He painted and drew, worked with wood, tackled remodeling projects and had a gift for seeing what something could become.

Dale married his high school sweetheart, Faye Fosness, in 1975. Over 51 years of marriage, they built a life centered around family and shared adventures. They raised their children, Jared and Kristin, and made homes together in Owatonna, Burnsville, Farmington and Red Wing. In later years, they became snowbirds, spending their winters in Mesa, Arizona, and their summers in Minnetonka, Minnesota. They enjoyed traveling, golfing and, most of all, sharing those experiences together.

Family was at the center of Dale’s life. As a dad to Jared and Kristin, he was gentle, dependable and always there, whether that meant driving wherever they needed to go, helping with a project or simply spending time together. He welcomed Rikki and John into the family and deeply valued the time they all spent together.

Becoming PopPop to John Paul, Kacey and Colin brought Dale tremendous joy. He loved being with his grandchildren, drawing with them, telling stories, sharing jokes and simply being present. Children seemed naturally drawn to his patient, playful nature.

Dale had a wonderfully goofy sense of humor and a love of dad jokes. He was lighthearted, talkative and nostalgic, and his humor was never at someone else’s expense.

Dale lived with prostate cancer for more than a decade. Through it all, the things that mattered most to him remained the same: his family, his creativity and the time he had with the people he loved.

Dale is survived by his wife of 51 years, Faye; his children, Jared (Rikki) Anhorn and Kristin (John) Penrod; his grandchildren, John Paul Penrod, Kacey and Colin Anhorn; his siblings, Alice Bedney, Glen Anhorn, Phillip Anhorn, Curt Anhorn, Doreen Krueger and Pam Mitchell; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothea Anhorn; his brother, John; and his grandchildren, Colbie, Ryan and Alexis Anhorn.

Dale will be remembered for his creativity, his gentle nature, his humor and the way he showed up for the people he loved. He made his family feel supported, welcome and important, and the life he built with them will be his lasting legacy.
