It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Cullie Joseph Herr, 52, loving son, father and friend. He became ill and passed away on 21 January 2025 from Acute Respiratory Failure Hypoxia and Pneumonia while working in Shakopee, Minnesota.
He was born to Ronald D. and Cheryl M. Herr on 22 October 1972 in Fort Lewis, WA. He moved with his parents to Kitsap County in early 1974 and lived there until his passing. He was preceded in death by both Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, three Uncles, two Aunts and an Infant Brother in 1971. He is survived by loving parents Ron and Cherry Herr of Bremerton, WA, his two Daughters Maille Herr and Avrie Herr and their Mother Amie (Richard) Pickering of Tracyton, WA, and many Aunts and Cousins.
Cullie attended Seabeck Elementary, CK Junior and Senior High Schools, graduating in 1991. He played sports in Chico Pee Wees up through High School, with football his favorite, a Seahawk fan forever! He worked as a carpenter for most of his adult life, building mostly in Kitsap and Mason counties, as well as across the state, and owned his own company for years. He was hired on at PSNS in 2014, excelled in the Apprenticeship Program, graduating in 2018 until leaving the Yard in 2019 to again be his own boss.
Cullie loved the outdoors--fishing, hunting, hiking trails and camping. He seldom missed swimming, boating, and water in summer, and snow skiing in winter. He loved classic cars and hot rods, classic rock, car shows and a bonfire with family and friends. A special thank you to the staff and care team at St. Francis Regional Medical Center for providing excellent care and to Cullie’s close friends in Minnesota and Washington for their love, and support.
He was loved by so many and will be missed. A Celebration Of Life, May 17, 2025 from 1-4 PM at the Seabeck Community Center.
