Clarence Ronald Kinsella of Farmington,Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. He passed peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure and dementia.
Clarence, who was known by most as Ron or Ronnie to close family, was born on January 26, 1947 to L.W. and Mary Kinsella in Crosby, ND. He was raised by Oliver and Marie Olson, as their own, on a farm outside of Bowbells, ND, where he learned to work hard, love horses, and receive Jesus at a young age. He loved spending time with his horse, Prince, and his brother, Pat, as a child.
He graduated from Bowbells with an elementary education and gained his secondary education from Minot State University with a bachelor's degree in art and language. His love of knowledge earned him degrees after Minot State through online classes. Ron also served in the Army during the Vietnam war.
He married Carol J. Fredrickson on November 20, 1970 at the Lutheran church in Mohall, ND. They had two children, a daughter, Rhonda, and son, Michael.
He spent the majority of his career working for the post office after he, his wife, and children moved to Minnesota. He retired from the post office and enjoyed his retirement by traveling, reading, and playing golf, and challenging anyone who would take the bait to a game of chess. He remained active in the church throughout his life until his health no longer allowed it. But, he continued to faithfully read his Bible.
Ron is survived by his brother, Patrick (Marvonne) Kinsella; son, Michael Kinsella; daughter, Rhonda (Darin Parish) Kinsella; granddaughter, Christian (Kyle) Perez; grandsons, Zebadiah Mojeske, Jacob Mojeske, and Jesse (Grace) Kinsella; and four great-granddaughters, Sarinah, Lily, Armani, and Mabel.
Ron is preceded in death by parents, L.W and Mary Kinsella; foster parents, Oliver and Marie Olson; his wife, Carol J. Kinsella; brothers, Gerald and William Cochrane, and Bruce and Dennis Kinsella; and sister, Rosemary (Cochrane) Koster.
A celebration of life will be held at the Bible Baptist Church of Farmington at 19700 Akin Rd Farmington, MN. A small meal of Ron's favorites will follow the service as well as time to share memories and laughs.
A graveside interment will be held in May (date TBD) at the Sunset Memorial Garden in Minot, ND.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be left in Ron's name to the Big Brother Big Sister program @ https://bbbs.org/get-involved/donate/
