Charles Mark Schroeder

Charles "Chuck" Mark Schroeder, age 69, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026. Born in Minneapolis on July 6, 1957, he was the oldest of three children born to the late Alois and Barbara Schroeder.

Chuck grew up in Minneapolis, graduating from Edison High School with the Class of 1975. While his roots were in the city, his heart belonged on the water; he spent nearly every summer and weekend at his parents’ lake home in Richmond, Minnesota—a tradition of lakeside life and family gatherings he cherished throughout his entire life. For over 20 years, Chuck lived in a beautiful country home near Silver Creek, later moving to the Annandale Care Center where he resided for the past five years.

Known for his tireless work ethic, skill, and sharp mind, Chuck was the dedicated owner and operator of Liberty Tool for 38 years. He was the kind of guy who was willing to help anybody, always ready to lend a hand, share his knowledge, or tackle a problem for someone in need. Outside of work, Chuck lived life with genuine energy and an unforgettable personality. You never quite knew what was going to come out of his mouth—he had a never-ending supply of jokes, quick comebacks, and a bit of good-natured mischief that kept everyone around him laughing and on their toes.

In his younger years, he loved the roar and speed of the quarter-mile track, racing his Camaro with pride. He brought that same passion to the bowling alley, where his skill earned him the rare and impressive feat of rolling three perfect 300 games. At the lake, Chuck was always in the center of the fun—whether pitching horseshoes, tossing bean bags in the yard, or sitting down for a lively, trash-talking game of cribbage with family and friends.

Above all, Chuck was happiest surrounded by friendly competition, great laughs, and the people he loved most.

Chuck is survived by his children, Darren (Tiffany) Schroeder and Angela Schroeder; his sister, Jeanne (Jerry) Schmidt; his stepmother, Dolores Schroeder ("MaMa Dee"); his six stepbrothers and stepsisters; his six grandchildren; his great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Barbara Schroeder, and his brother, Gerald "Weasel" Schroeder.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff and fellow residents at the Annandale Care Center, who truly became like family to Chuck over the last five years, as well as to Hospice for their compassionate care, support, and dedication in keeping him comfortable.

Chuck will be remembered for his big heart, his mischievous grin, his love of horsepower, and the lasting memories and laughter he gave to his family.

A small ceremony in his honor will be held at the Annandale Care Center for residents, staff, and immediate family
