Carol Jean Keefe

Carol was born in Minneapolis, MN, to Richard and Ann Keefe on April 8, 1960. She was the fifth of ten children and grew up in Minneapolis/Brooklyn Park. She graduated from Park Center High School in 1978. She married her husband, Robert Knutson, on August 22, 1990. They created their life together in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Carol will be forever missed by her husband, Bob; and nine siblings, Pat (Ann) Keefe, Miki (Steve) Ericson, Kathy (John) Trefethen, Joan (Mike) Lind, Ken (Bridget) Keefe, Jim Keefe, Joyce Egersett, Jerry Keefe and Dave (Priscilla) Keefe, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Richard and Ann Keefe, mother and father-in-law, Ken and Ruby Knutson, stepdaughter Jennifer Knutson and brother-in-law Brent Egersett.

Carol worked in manufacturing for 25 years and 18 of those years were at Hiawatha Rubber. She will forever be remembered as one who was content to work behind the scenes to make things better for others. She was always willing to put others before herself. Carol enjoyed bowling, crafting, music, movies, bingo, and going to the casino. She also enjoyed being outdoors going for walks and taking care of her lawn, trees, bushes and flowers. She took pride in making her outdoor area look beautiful for all to enjoy. Carol loved talking with strangers, putting them at ease, often making them smile, laugh, and left them feeling they had made a friend. She courageously battled metastatic breast cancer for the last two and half years of her life but always found a way to connect with others, enjoy a good laugh and to appreciate life each and everyday.

The family wants to thank the Frauenshuh Cancer Center for the care they gave to Carol during her cancer treatments. Dr. Melissa Sherman, her nurses, and music therapists. Volunteers Sue and Larry made Carol feel loved, supported and well cared for. We are forever grateful to all of you for helping Carol along her journey.

A Celebration of Life open house will be announced at a later date this summer. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Susan G. Komen.
