Raised in Hopkins, MN, to Magdeline and George Schug Senior. He had 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
He attended Eisenhower High School and went on to enlist in the navy in 1972 at the age of 18. He served from 1972-1975 alongside his 2 brothers Gary and Daniel on the USS RANGER and was Honorably discharged in 1975 receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
In 1976, he got married and had a daughter in 1979. He was a loving and loyal father, grandfather, brother and friend who never said no to a friend or family member that needed help. In June of 1999, he was proud to graduate and walk across the stage with his daughter Toni. He was super excited to become a grandfather to Arianna in 2004 and then again to Leah in 2010. He enjoyed outdoor things like hunting, fishing and camping, watching football "GO VIKES", old cartoons, and westerns.
He is survived by his daughter, Toni Schug; 2 granddaughters, Arianna Schug and Leah Lockman; brothers, George (Pamela) Schug Jr. and Gary Schug; sisters, Pamela (Scott) Nicholson, Robin Schug, and Shirlee (Russell) Farnick, dear friends, Gary and Laura Dahl, and extended family. He also had an emotional support buddy named Wilma (cat) who would always make sure that when he needed her she was there for treats and cuddles.
