Bonnie Lou Hanson, of Delano, passed away of natural causes on March 21, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on July 11th, 1944, in Robbinsdale, MN. After graduating from Osseo High School, she enlisted in the Marines where she served at Camp Pendleton. She was a proud Marine, and we are all proud of her accolades and awards throughout the years of Legion affiliation. Bonnie went on to work as a Peace Officer and held the job of head of Security for Minneapolis parking ramps.
Bonnie was actively involved in The American Legion where she held titles such as Commander of both Post #270 and the 10th District, Adjutant, Chaplain, and current 10th District National Security Chairman. A member of the 40 & 8 and an honorary life member of Buffalo Post 270.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Lundeen; mother, Laveta Zwack; son, Dan Haley. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Peterson; brother, Steve Lundeen; grandchildren, Justin Fox, Madison Peterson, Ethan Stahl.
Bonnie will be missed by many. She was an asset to her community.
At her request, she was laid to rest in a Fort Snelling National Cemetery Columbarium, Section CC 2 ROW 23 SITE 35A.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on May 17 from 2-5 p.m at the Buffalo American Legion, 304 10th Ave. S. in Buffalo, MN.
